I believe that we're all relieved to see an end to the deluge that our city has been under! The lawns of DISK are drying off and will be ready for your child to play on very soon (unless we experience more rain!)
Thank you again for sending your children to school with all of the necessary supplies, as well as fees/funds, class tissues, and books for the class library. I am keeping a list of which books were lent by whom, so we can get them back to you at the end of the year. Truly, I appreciate your efforts.
There has been some confusion by what I meant with "A4 notebooks," for which I apologize. I simply mean a standard sized notebook with lines. I have shown your child a variety of examples, any of which will be great! Your child's notebook will be very important, as we will use it daily as a place to staple worksheets and write down a variety of things in (class notes, spelling words, certain homework assignments and journal entries). I have shown the students to write down the date, the subject and the topic at the top of each new page, in order to keep their notebook organized. Once they have completed their notebooks, they can use them to study from for their end of quarter exams.
We had a great math lesson today, where we worked with counters to add base ten. The students appear to really enjoy "hands on" activities, so I will try to implement them into their lessons where I can.
Tonight's homework: Complete Math Practice 1.1
