Today the second grade received their first "Good Day Monster!" That means that all of the students worked hard to take turns speaking, respecting one another, and keeping on task today. When the students receive 10 "Good Day Monsters," they will be able to choose their seats for the day, I will bake us a special treat, and we will have a very fun activity. I love to reward good behavior, and am excited to see an improvement in classroom deportment since the first day.

I have the elective forms from every student. The administration is busy collating the information and forming the elective rosters now. I will inform the students of their activity in class tomorrow. I hope that your child will enjoy their selected elective!

Sister Loida will be holding catechism class on Fridays during our independent study period. The students are invited to join.

Note: We always have our music class on Thursday afternoon. Several of the students forgot to bring their recorder and music folders. Like P.E. uniforms, if they don't have their recorders, the students are unable to participate for the day. I would like to encourage the students to remember to pack their recorders on Wednesday night. I will remind them on Wednesday, as well.

I am pleased to be able to lead the art lessons with your child this year. Below are some pictures that I took today of the students recreating Kandinsky's "Color Study: Squares with Concentric Circles." I apologize for not requesting the students to bring painting clothes in advance. If there are any water color stains on their clothes from today, it should come out quite easily with a bit of soap and water. I will remind the students to bring painting clothes if they wish to protect their uniform during certain art activities. As you can see, their creations are beautiful!
