Today in the second grade, we:
- began the day with Miss Fisher, who was visiting DISK; it was a wonderful visit!
- learned how to use quotation marks correctly in language and spelling class
- continued working on our quarter three vocabulary word boards in reading and phonics class
- defined and identified "flips," "slides" and "turns" in math class
- rehearsed our skits on self-control for next Monday's assembly during independent learning
- compared and contrasted four different types of clouds in science class
Miss Fisher was so happy to see her old students!
Tonight's homework:
- Complete Journeys Practice Book pg. 114-117.
- Create a word search with 15 quarter three vocabulary words. The students have the word search to fill out. There will not be a spelling quiz on Monday. The students are encouraged to continue working through their quarter three study guides.
I have received some of the students' field trip funds. I wrote in your child's assignment book if I received it. Please try to complete the form and pay if your child is going by Monday, March 9th. Thank you!
The students will be helping me present a few skits on "self-control" at the assembly on Monday. I would really appreciate it if you could bring your child extra early on Monday so we could practice once before we go on stage. Thank you so much!
