Today in the second grade, we:
  • completed sentences by choosing the base form from a word list and adding the correct suffix (ed, es, ing, er, est) in reading and phonics class
  • identified and created symmetrical and non-symmetrical shapes in math class
  • discussed a variety of topics and how to go through the scientific method in preparation for the science fair during independent learning
  • practiced correctly punctuating dates (Wednesday, March 4th, 2015) and the names of places (Minneapolis, Minnesota) in language and spelling class
  • continued to discuss various cultures in our community and how our culture(s) affect us, as well as performed our skits on how to act respectfully to differing points of view in social studies class
  • started our new unit on weather in science class
Happy Birthday, Grace! Your lovely attitude and great work ethic makes our classroom a lovely place. Thank you for helping me everyday!

Congratulations to our latest kindness star, Nathan! Nathan is always quick to help out others, push in chairs, close doors or do whatever he can to make our classroom a tidier and more organized place. Thank you, Nathan!

Below are a few snaps of some of the students' skits on point of view.

Tonight's homework:

No homework! The students have their minor subject exams in Chinese class, christian living class and music class tomorrow, so I have encouraged them to study for these exams when they would normally do their homework.

*Special Notes:

The Scholastic book orders are in! Please visit the library if you haven't picked up your order yet.
