What a rainy start to our day! It's sure nice to see the sunny, blue skies after such a storm.

Today in the second grade, we:
  • wrote a short paragraph about our reading buddies using the information that we collected yesterday, completed a web to list details about a character and continued our cursive writing unit (M and N) in language and spelling class
  • created solid shapes using clay and toothpicks and used these models to compare and contrast the properties of solid shapes in math class
  • identified various cultural differences between Taiwan and the United States in social studies class
  • drew and labeled the four different primary clouds (cirrus, cumulus, stratus and cumulonimbus) in science class

    Making models of solid shapes:

Tonight's Homework:
  • Log onto your Science Fusion account to watch the 1st video of Unit 7: "How Does Weather Change?" and complete the accompanying worksheet that is in your child's science notebook. The students have already started this worksheet.
  • Read aloud for 15 minutes and have a parent sign your reading log.
Announcements:
  • I have received most the quarter three elective forms and quarter two Christian Living exams. Thank you!
  • The second semester lunch fee form is in your child's assignment book. If your child will be eating the school lunch this semester, please return the form and fee by Monday, January 11th.
