Today in the second grade, we:
  • created positive and negative contractions in reading and phonics class
  • used ordinal numbers to answer a series of questions, and extended, described and created repeating and growing patterns in math class
  • practiced for tomorrow's language festival in independent learning
  • played a review game with the current unit's vocabulary and key concepts in social studies class
  • practiced capitalizing months of the year, the names of people and abbreviations in language and spelling class
  • discussed the basic needs of plants in science class
The G2 students are hard at work preparing for both the
language festival and the CNY celebration!

 Tonight's homework:

In your science notebook, create 6-8 sentences comparing and contrasting plant and animal needs.
Ex: Both plants and animals need water to survive.

*Special Note:

Tomorrow's schedule is as follows:
  • 8:30-9:30: Mass
  • 9:30-10: Break
  • 10-12: Language Festival
  • 12-3: Family Day Lunch/Gathering
The students will be dismissed at 3 p.m. tomorrow, but if you wish to take your child home earlier, just let me know so that I can keep track of where the students are. Thank you so much! I look forward to seeing many of you tomorrow. Your children have been working hard on their song and poem and are ready to present to you!

The students need to wear their school uniforms tomorrow for Mass and the Language Festival, but they may change into their P.E. uniforms for lunch if they wish!
