Today in the second grade, we:
  • practiced writing a research paragraph in reading and phonics class
  • used tens and ones models to show numbers to 100 in math class
  • discussed ideas for the language festival during independent learning
  • proofread a report, correcting the comparative and superlative form of adjectives, in language and spelling class
  • compared and contrasted the geographic characteristics of various states in social studies class
  • identified different animals and their life cycles in science class

Welcome back, Kaitlyn! Here she is showing and describing some toys that she got while on holidays at Sun Moon Lake.

Tonight's homework:

In your science notebook, describe the life cycles of a chicken, a turtle, and of a rainbow trout.

*Special Note:

We will be using latex paints in art class tomorrow. If your child does not have a paint shirt/smock at school and wishes to keep his or her clothes clean, I recommend packing an old shirt to bring tomorrow. Thanks!
