Welcome back! It is wonderful to see my students' bright, shiny faces! I have skimmed through their holiday journals and am extremely impressed and truly just delighted by how much care and time many students put into describing their days away from Dominican. I know that getting holiday homework done can be difficult, so I appreciate your help in encouraging your child to try their best to express themselves!

There is a form stapled into your child's assignment book listing the times available for parent-teacher conferences this Friday, January 9th. This day will be a half-day, due to the issuance of report cards, and the teachers will be available to meet once the students have been dismissed at noon until 4:30. Please circle any times that you are available to meet and send back the paper with your child. If you are unable to meet that day, please just make a note of it on the paper and we can make arrangements to meet after the 9th if you wish. I will create the schedule and send it to you as soon as I have all of the responses.

Tonight's homework:

Reading Response Journal (either the worksheet OR 8-10 sentences and a picture in your language notebook)

Next week's spelling words (for Monday, January 12th) will come from Journeys pg. 194-197:
  1. blooming
  2. shovels
  3. scent
  4. tough
  5. vegetables
  6. wrinkled
  7. plain
  8. muscles
  9. nodded
  10. neighbors
