Today in the second grade, we:
  • reviewed our weekly target vocabulary and practiced using the indefinite articles "a" and "an" correctly in language and spelling class
  • listened to and answered concept-checking questions about "The Ugly Vegetables" in reading and phonics class
  • used cubes of 10 to discover place value in math class
  • checked out new books to read from the library during independent learning
  • compared and contrasted deserts and oceans in social studies class
  • described various body coverings (skin, fur, shell, etc.) in science class
I have received back most of the schedule forms for the parent-teacher conferences-thank you! Four parents have only selected the first time slot, so I have sent home some of the forms again to see if there are any additional times when you can meet. If you are unable to meet on Friday, I am happy to meet you after school another day, just let me know.  Below is the schedule that I have so far:
  • 12:10-12:25: Four parents have selected this spot
  • 12:30-12:45: Nathan
  • 12:50-1:05
  • 1:10-1:25
  • 1:30-1:45: Benson
  • 1:50-2:05
  • 2:10-2:25: Miya
  • 2:30-2:45: Yoko
  • 2:50-3:05: Huan
  • 3:10-3:25
  • 3:30-3:45
  • 3:50-4:05
  • 4:15-4:30
A belated happy birthdays to Marianne and Shannon! They celebrated their birthdays over the weekend. These two bright, curious girls do their best to keep our classroom humming along happily.

Tonight's homework:
