- took our weekly spelling quiz and took turns sharing information about our Chinese New Year holiday during language and spelling class
- previewed and discussed our new story in Journeys, "How Chipmunk Got His Stripes," in reading and phonics class
- identified, classified, and described plane shapes in math class
- checked out new books to read from the library during independent learning
- continued to learn about plant life in science class
- practiced distinguishing facts from opinions in social studies class

*We will have the Mass of St. Jordan this Thursday at 8:30 a.m. We will have the mass rehearsal tomorrow, also at 8:30 a.m. The second grade is sponsoring the mass this month, thus it is important that everyone is on time. Thank you!
*Sports Day is this Thursday. It will begin at 10 a.m. after the mass and wrap up before lunchtime. I will distribute the students' shirts after the mass.
