Thursday, November 5th, 2015

Today in the second grade, we:
  • wrote a descriptive paragraph about a place and continued our unit on cursive in language and spelling class
  • echo read and discussed our new story in Journeys, "The Ugly Vegetables" in reading and phonics class
  • counted, read, and wrote tens and used tens and ones models to show numbers to 100 in math class 
  • created and presented short skits about how to be peacemakers, and practiced using a pictograph in social studies class
  • compared and contrasted the life cycles of a chicken, a turtle, and a rainbow trout in science class
  • listened to a story and practiced our class poems and songs during ECA 










Tonight's Homework:
  • Complete Math Practice pg. 5.1-5.2.
  • Read aloud for 15 minutes and have a parent sign your reading log. 
  • Practice talking about your who takes care of you in front of your family. You will have two minutes in front of the class tomorrow during our weekly sharing time. 

    *The students prepared an outline of what they want to present. On the back of their outline is a rubric of the points I will be grading their presentation on.

    These are questions you can answer:

    1. Who takes care of you at home?
    2. Who takes care of you at school?
    3. How long should parents take care of their children?
    4. How do you get taken care of?
    5. Who do you take care of?
    6. Do you like to care for others?
