Today in the second grade, we:
- identified, pronounced and created plural nouns that end in s and continued our cursive writing unit in language and spelling class
- worked on word problems involving place value, decided if our answers were reasonable and explained the answers in math class
- distinguished facts from opinions in an article about the life of Mark Twain in social studies class
- identified the stages of a caterpillars life cycle and further discussed other occurrences of metamorphosis in nature in science class
- Complete poster on an animal's life cycle. The poster paper is in your child's assignment book. The students have been instructed to illustrate, write a title for and 1-2 sentences about each stage of a chosen animal's life cycle (Example: A frog should have four periods to its life cycle: 1. Egg 2. Young Tadpole 3. Growing Tadpole 4. Adult Frog.)
- Read aloud for 15 minutes and have a parent sign your reading log.
- Practice sharing time outline for this Friday's sharing time.
If you are able to make it to our family lunch on Thursday, November 26th, please return the form to me by tomorrow. Thank you!
