Today in the second grade, we:
- were updated on our house points, celebrated the participants from Saturday's city-wide spelling bee, and learned more about our community gardening project from Mr. Chao during our weekly assembly
- took our weekly spelling quiz, practiced syllabification, and started brainstorming for our weekly sharing time in reading and phonics class
- took a quiz on chapter 5 in math class
- completed our review of unit 2 with a game of Jeopardy in social studies class
- practiced for the language festival and next Monday's assembly, listened to and discussed some more of our current story, and practiced using our idiom of the week: "Losing Her Marbles."
Congratulations to Fiona, for taking first place in the spoken part of the spelling bee, and congratulations to Daniel and Fiona for tying for first place in the written part of the spelling bee! |
Tonight's Homework:
- Complete the reading response on "Using a Timeline" and check the rubric (in your child's assignment book.)
- Read aloud for 15 minutes and have a parent sign your reading log.
