Happy December! Today in the second grade, we:
Tonight's Homework:
- echo read "How Chipmunk Got His Stripes" and practiced using our prediction skills with this folk tale in reading and phonics class
- wrote a short story using irregular plural nouns and continued our unit on cursive writing in language and spelling class
- identified, classified, and described plane shapes in math class
- reviewed what we know about the oceans and continents, discussed where we would like to travel to, and created maps of our classroom and bedrooms in social studies class
- met with our K2 reading buddies during ECA
Tonight's Homework:
- Complete the narrative "If I could travel anywhere on the map, I would go to..." and check the rubric (in your child's assignment book.) The students were instructed to write at least six sentences in their paragraph with a strong beginning (introduction) and a strong ending (conclusion.)
- Read aloud for 15 minutes and have a parent sign your reading log.
- Complete Friday's sharing time outline.
- Library day tomorrow: the children are reminded to bring their books.
- The G2 class will join the G1 and G3 classes for a field trip to the Art Museum of Kaohsiung on Wednesday, December 16th. There is a permission slip in your child's assignment. Please complete the slip and return it with 100 NT. We will be leaving the school at 9 and will be back in time for lunch.
