Today in the second grade, we:

• took our quarter two exam in social studies during ECA
• continued to work with consonant digraphs (ph, ch, sh, kn, wr, ght, gh, wh, gn, th) in reading and phonics class
• revised sentences by choosing exact nouns and continued our cursive writing unit in language and spelling class
• fine-tuned our holiday dance in dance class
• reviewed for next Monday's exam in science class

Tonight's Homework:

• Complete the the Think-Tac-Toe (in your child's language notebook.) The students are directed to choose three activities from the sheet. Please sign each activity they complete. All written work should be shown in your child's language notebook. The students were directed to use 20 different words for each activity.
• Read aloud for 15 minutes and have a parent sign your reading log.
• Prepare for next Monday's (December 14th) exams in math and science (check the study guides.)

  -Math and Science Exams
  -Half-Day (Students dismissed at 11:45 a.m.)
   
• Tuesday, December 15th:
  -Reading & Phonics and Language & Spelling Exams
  -Half-Day (Students dismissed at 11:45 a.m.)
   
• Wednesday, December 16th: 
• -Field trip to the art museum (return by lunch)
  -School-wide movie in the afternoon
   
• Thursday, December 17th:
  -Mass and Christmas Concert rehearsal in the morning
  -Special lunch! (McDonalds was the unanimous vote)
  -Gardening
  -Baking
  -Holiday film and carol singing

• Friday, December 18th:
  -Mass at 8:20 a.m. (Please report directly to the chapel)
  -Christmas Concert at 9:45 a.m.
  -Dismissal at 11 a.m.
