Be able to:
-correctly read and identify a series of short vowel words
-correctly read and identify a series of long vowel words
-correctly read a series of words with consonant blends
-identify compound words (ex: pancake, bookshelf,
whiteboard)
-identify words that have the same y sound (ex: y as a vowel
or y as a consonant)
-identify the number of vowels that you see and the number
of syllables in a word

-Lesson 5 pg. 122-148: “Teacher’s Pets”
-Lesson 7 pg. 195-216: “The Ugly Vegetables”
-Lesson 8 pg. 231-244: “Super Storms”

Reading
Be able to use:
-read a short story and answer questions about it
-select the correct word to finish the sentence
-connect the theme of the story to yourself and answer questions
about your life
