Today in the second grade, we:

• were updated on our house points, celebrated achievements in the DISK community, and listened to grade four present on prudence during our weekly assembly
• took our weekly spelling quiz, previewed our weekly target vocabulary and formed irregular plural nouns with 'es' in reading and phonics class
• took our chapter 10 quiz in math class
• listened to Mr. Chao give some information about the science fair after lunch
• made sentences with this week's idiom: "A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words" and rehearsed for Friday's mass during ECA

Tonight's Homework:

• Complete the fiction book report on "Violet's Music" and check the rubric (in your child's language notebook.) 
• Read aloud for 15 minutes and have a parent sign your reading log. 

Announcements:

• The students brought home their spelling tablets. Please sign the tablet and send it back with your child tomorrow.
• This Friday, February 26th, the grade two will be sponsoring the monthly mass. I kindly request that the students arrive early this Friday so that they are fully prepared for their mass responsibilities.
• The P.E./Health quarter three exam's study guide is in your child's assignment book.
• The outline for the next sharing time (8 planets: March 4th) will be due this Friday, February 26th.
• The spelling words for next Tuesday's spelling quiz (March 1st) will come from Science Fusion pg. 317-331.
