Today in the second grade, we:
Tonight's Homework:
- echo read "Wolfgang Mozart: Child Superstar!" from Journeys and made connections to ourselves by discussing which activities Mozart and Violet liked to do with their friends in comparison to activities we like to do with our friends, to another text (Violet's Music) by creating a conversation that Violet and Mozart might have if they met each other, and finally to the world by brainstorming music people like to play for special events in reading and phonics class
- continued to work with the present perfect tense vs. the simple past tense (have/has seen vs. saw, have/has gone vs. went) in language and spelling class
- practiced skip counting and started our new chapter in math by rewriting addition problems in vertical form in math class
- compared and contrasted the properties of stars with that of planets and updated our KWL chart during science class
- met with our K2 reading buddies during ECA, where we played a noun game with them
Tonight's Homework:
- Complete Social Studies Activity Book pg. 49-51.
- Read aloud for 15 minutes and have a parent sign your reading log.
- Prepare for tomorrow's social studies quiz on unit 4.
- Library day tomorrow: the children are reminded to bring their library books.
- P.E. day tomorrow: the children are reminded to wear their P.E. uniforms.
