Today in the second grade, we:
- reviewed our weekly target vocabulary practiced identifying and reading long i (ie, i_e) words in reading and phonics class
- continued fine-tuning our dance moves in dance class
- took turns sharing about our favorite food during our weekly sharing time and continued our cursive writing unit in language and spelling class
- classified animals that have lungs and animals that have gills in science class
- started our quarter two electives during ECA
Tonight's Homework:
- Complete Journeys Practice Book pg. 35-36.
- Complete the Think-Tac-Toe (in your child's language notebook.) The
students are directed to choose three activities from the sheet. Please
sign each activity they complete. All written work should be shown in
your child's language notebook.
The cartoon that the students were recommended to watch on the TTT is:
Prunella's Prediction. - Read aloud for 15 minutes and have a parent sign your reading log.
- Prepare for next Monday's (October 19th) spelling quiz: engineer, design, process, problem, solution, improve, technology, environment, redesign, robot, bridge, rocket (from Science Fusion unit 2 pg. 41-65.)
- I have sent home your child's pocket folder. Please send it back with your child on Monday.
- There will be a language quiz next Tuesday, October 20th on unit 1, "The Sentence."
