Today in the second grade, we:
- used the 5 W's (who, what, where, when, why) to add details to our writing and continued our unit on cursive in language and spelling class
- echo read "Westburg by Bus" and compared the story to ourselves and what pet we would bring if we were in Miss Fry's class, another text-"Teacher's Pets"-and voted for which place we would rather visit for a day, and the world-how to take care of real-live pets in reading and phonics class
- worked with today's number (99) and used cubes to find the median for the data in a tally chart in math class
- continued to compare and contrast the roles and responsibilities of the city and state government in social studies class
- recalled basic needs that we learned last quarter in social studied class and discussed why living things must have these needs met in order to survive in science class
- listened to Sr. Heart present during ECA
- Complete Math Practice pg. 4.4-4.6.
- Read aloud for 15 minutes and have a parent sign your reading log.
- Practice talking about your favorite food in front of your family. You
will have two minutes in front of the class tomorrow during our weekly
sharing time.
*The students prepared an outline of what they want to present. On the back of their outline is a rubric of the points I will be grading their presentation on.
These are questions you can answer:- What is your favorite food?
- Is it healthy or unhealthy?
- Why do you like it?
- Where do you buy it?
- Where do you eat it?
- What are the ingredients?
- How do you make it?
