Today in the second grade, we:
- were updated on our house points, learned about charity and how to "pay it forward" from the G4 class, and celebrated our latest Angel of the Week, G2's very own Kellen, during the weekly assembly
- took our weekly spelling quiz and practiced identifying and reading long u (ue, ui, u_e) words in reading and phonics class
- worked with today's number (30) and determined probability for an event (more likely, less likely, equally likely) in math class
- identified U.S. states, their capital cities, and their borders in social studies class
- prepared for tomorrow's Living Rosary during ECA

Tonight's Homework:
- Complete the book report on "Teacher's Pets" from Journeys pg. 122-148 and check the rubric (in your child's assignment book.)
- Read aloud for 15 minutes and have a parent sign your reading log.
- Prepare for tomorrow's quiz in language and spelling class on unit 1: "The Sentence" by studying WB Plus pg. 1-20.
- We will be going on our half-day field trip to Kaohsiung's science museum this Thursday, October 22nd. We will leave at 8:30 and be back in time for lunch. Your child will need to bring his or her national health identification card on Thursday. Thank you!
- In your child's assignment book tonight, there is an acknowledgements slip for your child's insurance for the school's record. The insurance has been paid by the school. This slip is an acknowledgement of the coverage offered. Please review the attached notice and return the bottom slip. There is also a form for flu shots. Please return the flu shot form with both your child's full English and Chinese names if you would like him or her to receive a flu shot. Thank you!
