Today in the second grade, we:
- spent the morning celebrating our last mass of the year
- wrote an original story using the names of months and titles in language and spelling class
- reviewed this week's target vocabulary and practiced distinguishing vowel pairs from vowel digraphs in reading and phonics class
- learned more about the magnetic field, and objects that attract other objects and objects that repel other objects in science class
Tonight's Homework:
- Complete Journeys Practice Book pg. 120-121.
- Complete the Think-Tac-Toe (in your child's language notebook.) The
students are directed to choose three activities from the sheet. Please
sign each activity they complete. All written work should be shown in
your child's language notebook.

Bill Nye: Energy - Read aloud for 15 minutes and have a parent sign your reading log.
- Prepare for next Monday's (May 16th) spelling quiz: energy, magnets, light, heat, sound, dimmer, brighter, vibrate, loudness, pitch, pole, repel, attract, iron, steel, horseshoe, solar panel, electricity, instrument, fireworks (from Science Fusion unit 10.)
- Prepare for next Monday's (May 16th) social studies quiz on unit 5.
- The students brought home their pocket folders. Please send them back next Monday, May 16th.
