Today in the second grade, we:
  • took our weekly spelling quiz, previewed this week's target vocabulary, and identified the main idea and details in a passage about historical ways of predicting the weather (cows sitting down, plants changing) and compared them to modern weather tools (barometer, anemometer, and a thermometer) in reading and phonics class
  • took our quiz on adjectives and worked with this week's idiom: pulling your leg in language and spelling class
  • practiced showing equal amounts with different coin combinations in math class
  • identified and found examples of the three energies in the world: light, heat, and sound during science class
  • read our favorite Journeys stories to our K2 reading buddies during ECA
Congratulations to Victoria and Fiona, the grade two winners of the science fair!
Thank you to all of the students for working hard, and to the parents for supporting your little scientists!
