Thursday, May 19th, 2016

Today in the second grade, we:
  • wrote and punctuated original statements and questions in language and spelling class
  • practiced syllabification and identified diphthongs in reading and phonics class
  • worked on telling time accurately to the hour and half-hour in math class
  • reviewed the key concepts from unit 10 in preparation for tomorrow's quiz in science class
  • differentiated between producers and consumers in social studies class
  • practiced our poems-this time working of fluency and fluidity, discussed our latest class story (Greg's mom is turning their road trip into a long lesson), and visited the school's garden for weeding, watering and composting during ECA






Tonight's Homework:
  • Complete Math Practice 15.7-15.8.
  • Read aloud for 15 minutes and have a parent sign your reading log.  
  • Prepare for tomorrow's science quiz on unit 10: energy and magnets.
Announcements:
  • Tomorrow is P.E. day. The students are encouraged to wear their sports day shirts to P.E.
  • The G2 students have their quarter four exams for P.E. and Chinese tomorrow.
