Today in the second grade, we:

• learned that the yellow team received the most points for the second semester during our weekly assembly
• took our quarter four exam in science
• read our informative paragraphs to each other, and read and discussed "Octopuses," after which we identified the vowel pairs, digraphs and diphthongs in the story in reading and phonics class
• continued to work with time in math class
• learned about factories, raw materials and manufacturing in social studies class
• listened to our latest class story and practiced our poems during ECA

Tonight's Homework:

• Review for tomorrow's social studies exam.
  Apart from reviewing for their exams, there will be no more assigned homework for the G2 students for the remainder of our time together.

Announcements:

• The G2 students will be bringing notebooks and consumable books home. They are instructed to leave these books at home.
• The G2 students will have their quarter four exams in music and social studies tomorrow.
• The G2 students will have their quarter four exams in reading and phonics and language and spelling this Wednesday, which will be a half-day with the students dismissed at 11:45 a.m.
• The G2 students will have their quarter four exam in math this Thursday, which will be a half-day with the students dismissed at 11:45 a.m.
• The students are welcome to wear their own clothes this Friday, when we will have our class party.
