Today in the second grade, we:
- started off the morning by listening to and discussing our latest class story (What will Tom do with his snow day now that he's stuck with Marcus?)
- we then answered a few questions from our wonder wall (Why won't humans have wings? Why can't we see god?)
- reviewed our weekly target vocabulary and practiced using the comparative and superlative forms of adjectives in language and spelling class
- read and discussed the short story, "Working at the Zoo," and reviewed suffixes and syllabification in preparation for our unit 4 quiz next Monday in reading and phonics class
- continued to practice presenting our science fair projects in front of each other in science class
Tonight's Homework:
- Complete Journeys Practice Book pg. 109-110.
- Complete the Think-Tac-Toe (in your child's language notebook.) The
students are directed to choose three activities from the sheet. Please
sign each activity they complete. All written work should be shown in
your child's language notebook.

The Birth of the Constitution - Read aloud for 15 minutes and have a parent sign your reading log.
- Prepare for next Monday's (April 25th) spelling quiz: landmark, colony, artifact, settler, history, season, ancient, modern, time line, settlement, source, Hopi, predict, museum, cause, effect, independence, freedom, region (from Horizons unit 7.)
- Prepare for next Monday's (April 25th) phonics quiz on unit 4.
- The students brought home their pocket folders. Please send them back next Monday, April 25th.
