Thank you, moms and dads, for helping your children complete their science fair boards. I was delighted to see the children come in with beautiful, well-designed boards. You can take a little rest now! We will practice presenting in front of each other and other classes until we meet with the judges next Thursday, April 28th. Thanks again!
Today in the second grade, we:
- used the indefinite articles "a" and "an" to write original sentences in language and spelling class
- finished reading "Officer Buckle and Gloria" and discussed what it means to be part of a team and why it's important to be a buddy in reading and phonics class
- took our chapter 13 quiz in math class
- started practicing presenting our science fair boards in science class
- brainstormed a list of various national heroes, discussed how we can remember them and what they did, identified various monuments in Taiwan and America that honor these heroes, and designed memorials and monuments that can honor our own heroes in social studies class
- found some time to visit our school's garden for some weeding, watering, and composting some old mangoes we found on the ground under the mango tree, listened to and discussed our latest class story (the kids are getting ready for a snow day!), practiced April's class poem, and April's class song
