Today in the second grade, we:
Tonight's Homework:
- created a readers' theater of "Safety at Home," connecting the story to ourselves-by listing safety tips we know and acting them out like Gloria, to another text-and how the tips in "Safety at Home" are similar to and different from Officer Buckle's safety tips, and to the world-by creating some safety tips posters for our classroom in reading and phonics class
- reviewed this week's target vocabulary and used the comparative and superlative forms of adjectives to write a story about being a stranger in a strange land, where everything is a different size, shape, and color in language and spelling class
- practiced mental math and identified a quarter and a half dollar in order to find the value of a group of coins in math class
- practiced presenting our science fair projects in front of each other in order to give and receive feedback during science class
- practiced presenting our science fair projects in front of our reading buddies during ECA
Tonight's Homework:
- Complete Social Studies Activity Book pg. 59.
- Read aloud for 15 minutes and have a parent sign your reading log.
