Today in the second grade, we:
  • took our weekly spelling quiz, reviewed this week's target vocabulary, and used adjectives that describe color, size, shape and number in language and spelling class
  • visited the library to check out new books
  • reviewed the key concepts from chapter 12 in preparation for tomorrow's quiz in math class
  • compared and contrasted the properties of different states of water in science class
  • learned about different settlements from Ms. Johnson in social studies class
  • made sentences with this week's idiom: "Costs an Arm and a Leg"

Tonight's Homework:
  • Make progress on the presentation board for the science fair. In your child's science fair folders, you will find:
    • Information on how to make a presentation board (all boards do not need to look the same, this is just an example.)
    • The science fair scoring sheet that will be used this year (apologies for the dark marks; our school's printer is being fixed.)
The presentation boards will be due on Thursday, April 21st, so the students have a week to practice presenting in from of others. I can also help assist in adding finishing touches.
  • Read aloud for 15 minutes and have a parent sign your reading log.
  • Prepare for tomorrow's math quiz on chapter 12.
  • Finish writing your spelling mistakes five times (if you have mistakes.)
