Today in the second grade, we:
Tonight's Homework:
- started our new story in Journeys, "Officer Buckle and Gloria," where we learned about safety tips and misunderstandings, and predicted what we might learn tomorrow from the firefighters in reading and phonics class
- reviewed this week's target vocabulary and expanded sentences by adding appropriate adjectives in language and spelling class
- solved subtraction word problems in math class
- conferenced with me about the science fair, practiced presenting completed boards, and reviewed the judges' criteria for the science fair during science class
- found some time to watch the latest Dojo video, where Katie learns it's ok not to be the best, as long as she is working hard to improve, and checked out our Canadian pen pals' latest letters during ECA
- Complete Social Studies Activity Book pg. 57-58.
- Read aloud for 15 minutes and have a parent sign your reading log.
- Work on your science fair board if you're not finished (due this Thursday, April 19th.)
- Complete spelling corrections and get your spelling tablet signed.
- Library day tomorrow: the children are reminded to bring their library books.
- P.E. day tomorrow: the children are reminded to wear their P.E. uniforms.
- The fire department will be vising tomorrow morning between 9 and 10 a.m. to give a presentation on fire safety.
