Today in the second grade, we:
Tonight's Homework:
- were updated on our house points and celebrated achievements in the DISK community during our weekly assembly
- took our weekly spelling quiz, previewed this week's target vocabulary, and took a quiz on unit 4 (suffixes, contractions and syllabification) in reading and phonics class
- practiced writing multistep word problems and skip counted to find the value of coins in math class
- worked with this week's idiom: "On Cloud Nine" and learned about how Thurgood Marshall, Louis Pasteur and Golda Meir contributed to society in social studies class
- continued to work on presenting our science fair projects, listened to our latest class story, practiced April's class poem and April's class song
Tonight's Homework:
- Complete the reading response on "Have You Got the Time?" and check the rubric (in your child's assignment book.)
- Read aloud for 15 minutes and have a parent sign your reading log.
- Rewrite your spelling quiz mistakes five times and get your spelling tablet signed.
- Tomorrow is the last day to turn in your Scholastic orders.
- There will be a language quiz on adjectives next Tuesday, May 3rd.
- The spelling words for next Tuesday's spelling quiz (May 3rd) will come from Journeys pg. 412-472 ("Helen Keller" and "Officer Buckle and Gloria"):
