Today in the second grade, we:
Tonight's Homework:
- were updated on our house points, celebrated the angel of the week, celebrated Kellen's achievement at his TKD tournament, and presented our skits on forgiveness during our weekly assembly
- previewed our weekly target vocabulary and continued to word with suffixes (-en, -able, -ible, -ion, and -ment) in reading and phonics class
- rewrote subtraction problems in vertical form in math class
- worked with this week's idiom: "Count Your Blessings" and identified causes for Fort Myers' expansion and the effects of its expansion in social studies class
- helped Sophie and Julie conduct the experiment for their science fair project, practiced April's class poem, and April's class song
Tonight's Homework:
- Complete the reading response on "How Things Move" and check the rubric (in your child's assignment book.)
- Read aloud for 15 minutes and have a parent sign your reading log.
- Rewrite your spelling quiz mistakes five times and get your spelling tablet signed.
- There will be a science quiz on unit 9 this Thursday, April 14th.
- There will be a math quiz on chapter 13 next Thursday, April 21st.
- The spelling words for next Monday's spelling quiz (April 18th) will come from Science Fusion unit 9.
