- attended our monthly mass where we celebrated the first communion for three DISK students in the morning
- expanded sentences by adding adjectives, and discussed our next sharing time (topic: famous people) in language and spelling class
- matched base words to their appropriate suffixes, and practiced syllabification in reading and phonics class
- conferenced with me regarding our science fair boards and learned about the famous Taiwanese physicist, Dr. Mei-Yin Chou in science class
- listened to and discussed our latest class story (Tom's parents are leaving him with his grandparents for the evening) and practiced April's class song

- Complete Journeys Practice Book pg. 105-106.
- Complete the Think-Tac-Toe (in your child's language notebook.) The
students are directed to choose three activities from the sheet. Please
sign each activity they complete. All written work should be shown in
your child's language notebook.

Maya and Miguel's Wonderful Life - Read aloud for 15 minutes and have a parent sign your reading log.
- Prepare for next Monday's (April 18th) spelling quiz: matter, mass, property, color, shape, size, texture, solid, gas, liquid, volume, water vapor, freezing, evaporation, condensation, melting, shrink, expand, container (from Science Fusion unit 9.)
- The students brought home their pocket folders. Please send them back next Monday, April 18th.
- There will be a math quiz on chapter 13 next Thursday, April 21st.
- The Easter egg hunt has been postponed to later, non-rainy day.
